What's your job?In this job you are responsible for developing and maintaining the standards and policies in the area of Network technology for Tata Steel Europe. The Tata Steel Europe wide area network connects many locations (mainly in Europe) with a few larger production sites and datacentres. Currently we are moving our core Network from Alcatel to Cisco technology. In this transformation the role of the Network Architect is to further develop the network architecture for the future and act as design authority for TataSteel approving all high level network designs. We have outsourced our network management, datacentre infrastructure services and application development (excl. cloud services). GIS supplies network services to approximately 80 sites around the world, incl. two data centers and the Azure cloud. These services include WAN, LAN and Mobile connectivity as well as security, IPAM and network management and tooling. Sites vary in size from large scale production plants with complex campus network topology to small regional offices. We are in the process of transforming our networks to a software defined architecture where security zones and (micro) segmentation are key functionality. Your main responsibilities: Determining and maintaining the rolling 5 year technical roadmap for networks as input for the annual plan and project calendar setting the technical standards and providing blueprints for network project. As our Network Architect you will investigate new opportunities in networks, both from an business angle as driven by invitations in the market. Met jouw kennis van design en architectuur ben je verantwoordelijk voor de technische kwaliteit van het NS PAAS domein en zorg je dat de teams hun digitale producten snel, veilig, betrouwbaar en met de juiste kwaliteit kunnen opleveren en maak je direct impact op de reizigersbeleving, bijvoorbeeld door de beschikbaarheid van de NS Reisplanner.
